One area that I struggle with in my own self care is making sure that I am fed regularly. I have a tendency to skip a lot of meals , then binge when I am starving. It’s not good for me, I know this. In an effort to deal with this I have been putting an extra emphasis on breakfast.
I’ve HEARD it is the most important meal of the day.
Naturally I turned to Pinterest to find myself some breakfast inspiration.
A few weeks ago I found THIS recipe (if you don’t click on the link it is sausage, egg, and cheese in a Pillsbury crescent roll) which was pretty close to being a winner. It was very very tasty and super easy to throw together BUT it was really ugly and unwieldy. I didn’t take any pictures but trust me it was not pretty. It most certainly didn’t look like that was on the website.
Undeterred I decided to have another go at the “breakfast rolls” but I put my own twist on it.
Rather than separating the crescent rolls I laid the whole thing out as one crust. I put the cheese down, topped with the scrambled egg and then sausage at the edge. Then I rolled the whole thing up as one big fatty! When it was done cooking I cut it up in easy to serve segments and we ate them with a knife and fork. Folks it was DELICIOUS!
The whole thing took less that 20 mins. However I did use pre-cooked sausage because they were on for a really good price at Gateway. I would 100% make this again and my men folk both gave it two thumbs up!
